swissSIER Summer Workshop 2012 -
Doctoral Student Workshop on Technology Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Innovation

We invite doctoral students to submit applications to attend the swissSIER Summer Workshop.
The workshop offers an intellectually stimulating experience, assists researchers with their thesis development, and builds community. Workshop participants will have opportunities to present their own research interests, to interact with each other, and to get acquainted with other researchers in their own and adjacent fields.
The workshops will be led by experienced junior faculty researchers from different institutions across Europe. We will offer two separate tracks:
Track 1 is designed for doctoral students who have not yet defended a dissertation proposal or who have recently done so and are still in the early stages of research. This track will devote attention to the selection of a dissertation topic, research design, and sources of data.
Track 2 is intended for students who have defended dissertation proposals and have at least one paper in progress. This track will devote attention to paper development, methods, reviewing skills, and completion of the dissertation. The two tracks will join together for selected panels, activities and for all meals. Applicants focusing on the nexus of strategy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship will be given preference.
The 2012 Summer Workshop will take place in Stechelberg at the remote end of the Lauterbrunen Valley in Switzerland. The workshop fee includes two nights lodging as well as meals. This is a great opportunity for doctoral students to learn from leading scholars and contemporary work in the field. We hope to see you in Stechelberg!
